From the Straits Times today
'TAIWAN'S WOMEN HATERS- HOME BOYS'
They spend their time at home on the NET playing computer games and complaining about women.
some paragraphs from the article
'..dozens of young men paraded through an upscale Taipei shopping centre one night last December yelling at startled couples:"Lovers, go to hell." '
' .. a generation of single young men who spend their evenings cloistered at home playing online computer games, reading fantasy comic books and complaining in Internet chatrooms about women'
'They use the Internet to construct anb alternative reality where fantasy characters and digital games trump domestic responsibilities and the formation of relationships'
'The "home boys" tend to be self-centred, less caring for others and incapable of problem solving'
'More so than politicians, women are swindlers among swindlers. They will cheat you of your money and time, or worse, steal from several men at the same time'
'You spend so much time on the Internet that you dont get to know women, and then failing to fin a girlfriend, you go back to the Internet'
**********************
They knew what's wrong and instead of trying to curb themselves, they have ANTI-COUPLES demostrations.
well.. what can i say?
PERSONALLY
I dont mind if its causual gaming or to pass time but it gets on my nerves when games become an obsession or the emphasis in life.
SO what if you can achieve everything in a virtual world? So what you can have alot about games to talk about?
What's the point if you cannot balance out your REAL LIFE? What's the point if you cant achieve your goals in real life? What's the point if you cant talk about OTHER topics beside games?
Aint that defeat the purpose of "interacting through games"?
So its a matter on how people apply what they learnt in the virtual reality to real life.
Like, dont always expect to be given and not give anything in return, you plan your goals timeline : you fight for what you want in virtual world, you plan your strategies against the BOSS.
Why not apply to the REAL WORLD?
FOR NOW. Dont tell me whatever achievements in the virtual world.
It doesnt apply to MY WORLD.
just for laughs
