Timbaland ft. One Republic - Apologise
I'm holding on a rope
Got me 10 feet off the ground
I'm hearin' what you say but I just can't make a sound
You tell me that you need me then you go and cut me down
But wait
You tell me that you're sorry didn't think I'd turn around and say:
That it's too late to apologize
Too late
Said it's too late to apologize
Too late
I'd take another chance, take a fall, take a shot for you
I need you like a heart needs a beat, it's nothing new
Yeah
I loved you with a fire red now it's turning blue
And you say
Sorry lord, the angel heaven let me think was you
But I'm afraid
It's too late to apologize
Too late
Said it's too late to apologize
Too late
I'm holding on a rope
Got me 10 feet off the ground

i am a very paranoid gf i guess but its better to be safe than sorry
know more than less and i hate being the last to know
and i wont wait to know.
i will ask till i know
and i like to be on par with him..
no such thing as he has i cant have :P
greedy maybe but its "provoking" me into strivin for it
********
whole place has been cleaned and spruced up for sis's birthday tml hahahha
i realised..
MY GUY was so lucky, he did not have to do Anything for my own 21st birthday BESIDES mingling with people from school .. tsk tsk
but it doesnt matter, i still like gatherings.
**********
a gal fren of mine told me her dream was to get a car after her license.
which she Did get.
but i'm kinda cautious if its appropriate/worthy for her to get one.
thus i came up with this mini equation taken from the web
taking one of the cheapest car around now
approx TOTAL cost = installment $400 + $100 insurance + $50 roadtax + parking home $65, parking outside $100 + ERP $50 + petrol $300 + maintainence $30

=$1095!
and from a Finance planning article i read in the papers, FIXED liabilities shouldnt exceed 20% of your takehome pay(approx)
BUT in the end, it depends on how you weigh the pros and cons of having a car and the purpose of having one too.
hmm.. i might be wrong.

Attracted To Guys Who Have Their Own Transportation, is that a criteria for u?
from FP
http://www.flowerpod.com.sg/forums/index.php?showtopic=47016&st=0
from the thread starter:
"if he doesnt drive a car, you won't consider going out with him?recently, I have friends who tell me they only go out with guys who drives.Actually my bf just bought a car and I am afraid gers will be attracted to him"
What say you?
some ans
"That;s quite silly , being attracted by a guy because he drives... Big deal... What if he is an a-hole and drives a Porsche?Don't worry about your friends throwing themselves to your guy because he has a car... Only mind your guy not others. Don't get all paranoid and worried!"
"However, there are a lot of guys who have not spare a thought for the future of themselves and their partner. They just bought a car without considering the expenses that are involved. Do you want a guy who have a car but in debt and is not able to support you with all the basic necessities such as food, house etc...or do you want a guy who is able to support you with all the basic necessities, but do not have a car?"
"my so has to own and drive a "respectable" car (sports car or high end models) , i wont admit it to anyone, but i despise my ex cos he was driving a lousy carits just something i learnt to value as i grew older."
"Having a car really is a plus plus point for me. Coming from a family w/o car and suddenly someone is there to pick u up and drive u around. It's really nice to feel like a princess sometimes (for me). But then again, it depends on the guy, not the car."
i only have one sentence, make it an asset not a liability.
it Might be car=status symbol or sometimes it's just out of mere interest or work related.
But in the end, it depends on how the you provide and maintain the cost of having it.

time
time is passing by ever so slowly ..
lots of waiting and waiting and waiting..
i wish i can control time to fastforward or undo some events in the past
but i cant
so the next best thing is to make better use of it..
heard some stuff here and there, made me more anxious and envy at the same time tsk tsk
but i cant do alot of things now so need to plan according to my own situation.

feeling of being alive.
watched HEROES and there's this episode whereby an influential lady shoplifted and her reason for doing so?
"Makes me feel alive"
over lunch, colleagues and i were talking about some of us having exams yet in that way its being "alive"
sure its tough, yet the satisfaction is immense after that.
that sets me thinking..
what makes me feel energetic and alive?
"that's why i have so many hobbies"
i dont think that helps alot.
*******************
the 7pm show also sets me thinking.
the second brother has been doing everything that his family see as "the right things"
fell in love with the gal "they all like and accept"
ask him anything and he will repy,"as you like", "you happy can already"
the wife asked "do you remember when we fall in love?"
"do you remember how we just fell in love like a blur, been together like a blur, then became married like a blur"
and she has been so dependent on the husband for everything. so if he's gone.
what is she?
how does she derive her identity from?
Are you sure you have been doing the things OTHERS "think that should be done"
or YOU "think that should be done"

grandpa's birthday celebrations
All relatives decided that it will be better to cook a family meal for grandpa and mum's the main chef.
Sat and sun's mornings were spent sourcing for ingredients and sauces and mum went over earlier on sun to cook with an aunt helping her.
And we managed to squeeze 2 tables in the house and 1 outside at the corridor for dinner hahahha and family practice's to have the kids greet Everyone who's higher in seniority and that's one of the few advantages of being an older cousin bah hahahha
And i still love mum's cooking as ever and i admire her "mass cookin"
Cousin bought a 2kg cake too for grandpa and 30 of us couldnt finish the cake LOL
And there were lots of photo-takings and one with the grandkids only
tsk tsk i feel so old lar LOL most of them still in pri and sec school only and the usual "when are u gettting married?" or "u can get married already" will surface everytime when relatives meet. Luckily i managed to get away and reply candidly to dispel the questions. :P
simple yet warming and reminds me of chinese new year gathering

Bugis outing
my initial plan was to stay home and laze but mum dragged me out citing "shopping prevents dementia"
In case you do not know, its a report done by NUS students citing shopping is better than mahjong
"Local research shows shopping can stave off dementia
A study conducted by NUS Department of Psychological Medicine found that shopping could stave off dementia for those aged 55 years and above.
Channel NewsAsia, Ch 5, Chl 8 and Ch U, 93.8 live, Capital 958, 15 October 2007"
anyway i know she is just joking LOL
she just doesnt want me to coop myself up :P
And thus we went bugis to find mum's present but nothing caught her fancy.
then tml will be grandpa's birthday celebration, mid week will be mum's birthday, next week sis's 21st, a week later will be candy's and 2 weeks later will be youngest sis's birthday..
tsk tsk
*stares at insides of wallet*
lunch was Aijisen and my favourite will be the Volcano .. i like it REAL HOT.
lol anyway had a hearty meal at the revamped bugis juntion foodcourt for dinner after all the walking and the malay food was real good, with lots of chilli hahaha

How Does You Order of Birth Influence Your Personality?
Birth Order Influences Who You Are
(a guideline like astrology, up to you to believe)
First Born
First-born children are goal setters, perfectionists and sometimes worriers . They are responsible, detail-oriented, and they follow the rules while trying to please everyone they can.
"These are the highest achievers," says psychologist Daniel Eckstein, PhD, from Ottawa University in Phoenix, Arizona.
Famous First-Borns: Presidents Truman, Johnson, Carter, and George W. Bush, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Cosby, Geraldo Rivera, Walter Cronkite, Peter Jennings, Dan Rather, Ted Koppel and Jackie Onassis.
Only Child
Only children are like first-borns, but exaggerated. They're extremely responsible, like to do everything perfectly and often get along with people older than themselves.
Famous Only Children: Frank Sinatra, Robert De Niro, Elton John, Lauren Bacall and Robin Williams.
Middle Child
Personality aside, most experts agree that the middle child has it the toughest. They're constantly trying to outdo their other siblings, who have gained special status as first-born or the baby, and according to Conley, are "25 percent less likely to be sent to a private school than they were before, and they're five times more likely to be held back a grade."
Middle children tend to rebel, be competitive and may feel that they don't entirely belong. They're also flexible, diplomatic peacemakers who are generous, outgoing and social.
Famous Middle Children: David Letterman and Donald Trump.
Last Born (Youngest Child)
There are exceptions to the birth order rules: large age differences between siblings, blended families and multiple births can all skew the results.
Because the youngest child is usually spoiled, protected and at least somewhat babied by the family, they grow up with the feeling that they can do no wrong. Youngest children are risk takers who love attention, creative "idea" people, and have a good sense of humor .
They can also be manipulative, persuasive and persistent, and may wish they could stay the youngest child forever. Because of this, last-borns may have a greater risk of psychiatric disorders and substance abuse problems, according to Eckstein.
Famous Last-Borns: Katie Couric, Ross Perot, Goldie Hawn, Jim Carrey, Jay Leno, Billy Crystal, Drew Carey and Steve Martin.
Exceptions to the Rule
Does your personality not come close to the descriptions for your birth order? It's worth noting that there are several caveats that can seriously skew these birth order "rules."
If there are a number of years between siblings, the birth order chain will start over. For example, if six years go by between the first and second child, the second child may take on personality traits of a first-born.
The birth order within genders can also start the chain over. For instance, if the first child is a girl and the second a boy, the boy may take on some first-born traits since he is the first-born male.
Deaths of siblings, adoptions, step-siblings, multiple births and divorce, in which siblings live separately, can also influence birth order traits.

in a nutshell
"Are you saying earnings doesnt make a difference to you?"
"it means i have room for allowances"
"my gal will have to be of the same earning bracket as me, if not she will be dragging me down and i have to supplement her spending"
"then your gal cannot rely on you as her support then"

relationship and money matters
its amazing and depressing how money matters can affect one's relationship
i heard a case today while travelling in the bus to work
conversation goes like this
2 gals talking to each other:
"i broke up with my bf a few months ago"
"why?"
"family against him cause he is not earning as much as my mum and also my eldest sis who is a high flier"
"how old is him? how much is he earning?"
"30 and earning 4K"
"i told him to change a new job and ask for higher pay and the recent one will be the third one"
"i asked him not to get the car to deprive himself of cash and he got pissed off"
i was thinking to myself
of course he will be pissed off
he is dating the daughter not the mum, the mum has her interests at heart but i think this is more than the mum should handle and meddle with.
the poor guy thus has to change job and has an "underground" relationship with the gal cause he has to "show his worth and paycheck" before approval from her mum
the guy has to live HIS LIFE too not just living according to what the gf wants aint it?
the gf after being stressed by the mum tries to control all his spending habits even though i THOUGHT its reasonable enough for someone who earns like 4K to support a car.
that's not how relationship should be.. isnt it?
so in the end a man's sincerity in marryin the gal lies with his paycheck and his financial support towards the gal?
even if its loveless? meaningless? no spontaneity? no laughter? no responsibility?
( i meant MAIN INDICATION of a man's sincerity)
i know love cannot bring bread to the table. but love SHOULD be the cement of all relationships. the rest can be worked out TOGETHER or compromised isnt it?
its complicating and no "fixed protocol" for such matters.
i am not saintly.
i am not as generous.
i am just making do with what i have.
Treasuring what else i have.
i cant apply "what others have" to myself
it depends on situation.
its always good to have more, what happens if there's not enough money?
DUmp the gf/bf? hop to a richer money tree?
ENVY will creep in and destroy yourself and the relationship.
there's no end to comparing.
if two ppl are fine with the arrangements they made between themselves, it'll be fine. aint it?
when u have the genuine support of someone, nothing is impossible.

prep talk again
today listened to some prep talk from the bf's mum.
she was telling us what she heard from a seminar organised by her company.
main points go like these:
-to be happy with what you do
-everyone has different characters
-everyone's way of expressing themselves is different ie do not jump to conclusion first
-if you cant change a person, change your perception towards that person ie manipulate your own mind to be more positive
-be willing to take criticism, sarcasm and learn from it
-what has happened is in the past, look forward, do not blame the present on past mistakes.
i'm a straight talker and i often offend people without realising it as pointed out by the bf.
he was saying i need to "adjust" myself to their levels in order to be on par and be understood.
i'm still trying.
the bf is doing a much better job than me that's for sure.
i have my "stubborn" character to blame for the unwillingness to bend.
like i wont stand for other people's nonsense, what makes them willing to stand MY nonsense.
but again, some things can be compromise.some can never be compromise
and thus i learn new stuff again.

Friendship can be a form of "useful" love
love-feeling to describe our feelings towards marriage-partners, children, friend, and even foods and pastimes.
by the words of Aristotle
friendship is a kind of love and there are 3 corresponding kinds.
-based on UTILITY
-based on pleasure
-based on themselves.
UTILITY
-where we love people due to their usefulness.
PLEASURE
-where we enjoy the company
PERFECT
-just loving the people for themselves, because we perceive them to be good.
how do YOU see your friendship?
"those who love each other for their utility do not love each other for themselves but in virtue of some good which they can get from each other"
i realise i have a friend just like that.
to make use, get back and getting gains
makes me wonder if i am being used like all her other friends.
i'm incomparable to her "upper class" of friends whom are richer smarter and more accomplished, not like me who has to "ask back for money", who has to be calculative
anyway, i think i've seen enough. though i wanted to see her as she is. to believe that she doesnt think of me this way. but the way she treated others made me hesistant and reconsider.
if she can do to others, i'm just a matter of time once i'm not of any use.
i cant stop her.
i can only distance myself.
till i feel better about it.
anyway she doesnt bother.
she is always out seeking new pastures who are "of top management"
its better to be in the background.

the bf
today the bf went for his first day of job for this hols
maybe i nagged too much about him staying too much at home
maybe i "hinted" too much about me wanting to go travelling
maybe i "hinted" that i wanted us to progress faster
maybe the bf is "conscious" of the gap between us
maybe the bf is "pressurized" by my conversations
maybe..
but i'm just glad for now. that he actually went for it
maybe for me for him for us.
it doesnt matter now
although we are barely inching forward.. at least its in the right direction
i will not lose to the bf
like the song "you can always stand under my umbrella"
shall pamper the bf over the weekends heh

aftermath of celebrations
back... and nursing a spinning head and nope, i did not drink again.
just wondering what did i do, have done and going to do for the next yr of my life.
looking back..seems kinda of a disappointment again.
the bf will be saying that i think too much, too realistically even to the point of dampening spirits.
i cant help it.
my world is not a fairytale. things will not happen by just closing eyes and wishing for it.
yet i am always contemplating, dragging my feet around and i hate this side of mine and i always claim i will make things right.
For this new yr resolution after my birthday, i must really force myself to see it through. i will prove to the bf and myself.
the reason why the bf always see the more negative side of me is cause... i do not hide from him.
i say what i hear, see or feel.
i aint an optimist by nature. i just do not tell others about it.
