This morning visited grandpa and after that went over to Bukit Panjang Plaza for lunch and bought grandpa some donuts LOL .. and for other relatives too especially for my hyper active little niece who's three but can rattle on in english much to the amusement of her grandpa.
It has become an almost weekly affair to visit grandpa who's in his eighties and the pa·tri·arch of my family.
I believe in the importance of relations though i aint one who has much to talk to them but at least we aint isolated from the rest.
I bought a magazine and came across this article "Financial Disater?Yes/No?"
I know spending habits need time to change and i am trying hard to prevent myself from bursting the budget that i had set for myself. I realised the importance of "setting aside first spend later" the hard way but its better late than never. i've ask dear to nudge me if i spend unnecessarily and i'm sorry he has to put up with my grumblings.
So.. some of the questions i found in the article to test yourself.
Interested can try out.
Do answer Yes/No to these questions and if you answered "Yes" to more than 5, you are safe.
1)Do you save at least 10 percent of your salary every month?
2)Do your loans or debts take up less than 20% of your salary every month?
3)Do you have savings worth at least 6 months' of your salary?
4)Do you have any life insurance policies?
5)Do you invest your CPF funds?
6)Do you pay your credit card bills on time every month?
7)Do you monitor your monthly bills, savings and your investments closely every month?
8)Do you have enough money to cover your expenses if an emergency arise?(hospitalisation etc)
9)Do you practise budgeting in terms of your expenditure?
So are you safe?
For question 2, i had busted that 20% cap as i'm still paying study loans, my insurance policies and "forced savings" and allowances to parents..
And so i'll wait. Hope i preserve till the end!
