ROSENTHAL EFFECT

Rosenthal Effect: Teachers' expectations about intellectual performance can lead to an "actual change" in how the students do later.

in one of my earlier posts i said i do not believe in BOTH STREAMIN and subject base
this is one reason to back it up ..

if you do subject-based learning, you are allowing the student to be "branded" weaker or stronger in that particular subject, elitism is still alive..
only in another form and name

to me
they are not giving the student the chance to learn more .. about that particular subject he or she is weaker in.
its like "oh i am weaker, i do foundation studies, i do not need to care much about it anymore"
he or she will not see the NEED TO IMPROVE on that particular "weaker" subject

teachers should not be BIAS..
should have EXPECTATIONS for BOTH TYPES OF STUDENTS..
its like wat i said .. if u aim highER, even if you fall back, it will not be too far off..

the founder, ROBERT ROSENTHAL, said that he strongly believed that all his students can "learn more than they are learning" and does not prejudge a student's ability.
so HE SETS HIGH EXPECTATIONS OF ALL HIS STUDENTS...

conclusion is
"and if a teacher does not believe in a student's capacity to learn, he should not be that student's teacher"
