i just remembered some articles i read recently
about the use of proper english by students nowadays ..

its found in the InYOUTH by youth for youth section in straits times

alot of students (surprisin) find its NOT COOL to speak proper english
instead they add lots of slang or dialect etc to "spice things up"
which IMHO is rather ugly
i wonder why
i always admire people who can hold a decent conversation in english ..
eloquent people to me attract me more than those who tried to "wayang" their way around with their various slangs or dialect peppered sentences..

i am not trying to be proud or implying that those who cant speak proper english are deemed second class watsoever ..
its the mentality ...
i hope people dun DELIBERATELY try to speak english in such "colourful" way ..
destroys the beauty of the language..

my english is not perfect
i cant grasp my grammer completely
i cant comprehend alot of vocabulary words
BUT i try to improve.. improvise...implement..

****************************
another trend brought to attention in the papers

the rise of school bullies ..

not just in neighbourhood schools..
its so prevalent nowadays ..
almost any school's bound to have it ..
its only how "well-known" or atrocious the extent of bullying is

i dun rememeber seeing or hearing bullyin cases when i was in sec sch ..
i wonder what entice the bullies to do what they did ..

jealously?
envious?
ego boast?

or just "i cant stand the sight of you"

whatever the reason..
to me
the bullies themselves are just sore losers
they cant accept that there's other people who excel more than them..
maybe in more ways than one ...
they couldnt accept that fact...so they took matters into their own hands..
making the "victims" fear them etc or make them more "humble" with their "achievements"

maybe there are other reasons..

for now ..
what the authorities can do is to educate the students..
