revision, jap food and shiseido mask
Met the youngest at Jurong point for dinner, had craving for jap food but the queue at Ichiban was so long so decided to try the new jap outlet at the 3rd level instead.. overall..
I still prefer Ichiban for the variety.
For the Curry... hmm I prefer Waraku's Curry >< lol I sound fussy
anyway it's good to explore new places to eat :P
with kimchi and potato salad as sides
sis's salmon tepanyaki noodles
***********
I did alittle review on the peel-off Shiseido mask that I use.
Its effectiveness to me is comparable to Kose BUT its cheaper :)
the black is for deep cleansing-removal of fine hairs/blackheads
the white is for pore refining and whitening
one pack can be used around 2 times, I bought alittle container to store the remaining.
I suggest to put a hairband cause if not the mask will pull away your hair ><
Cleanse your face properly first.
Apply a thin layer of the cream mask on the whole face and wait for mask to dry completely.
After the mask has dried completely, pull from the sides gently, it might hurt alittle, especially if you have lots of facial hair
then wala!
for a "blackhead-less" and "hairless" face :P
And remember apply toner after that to close the pores.

lastly, the suoer sa jiao puppy and sis lol

NYDC and cute pasta
And the nice people treated me to lunch and even got me a little cake, that was a nice surprise :)
Then we went Isetan supermarket lol cause I wanted to buy some groceries. Managed to stock up on some soba sauce and some cute pasta.
Walked around Orchard and browsed through some shops before heading home..
Gosh, today's one of the days my hand never stopped writing for 3 hrs.. minus last 5 minutes for checking -_-
and then its on to the next exam..
ganbatte to us!

yesterday's dinner at Jurong cafe at JE, its cheap and good, well at least taste better than most zi cha i have tried around my area. Went there for dinner with mum and two sisters.
today's NYDC, Red hot chilli pepper.. not as fiery as the name, the pasta's kinda undercooked but still nice overall
the sch friends.. of course my dear sis. lol candid shot, pardon me.
ang ku kueh in multi-colours~ there's corn, yam, durian and peanuts
bought by mum on her "day excursion to kusu island" last Sat
lol its good to see her so active, exercising with her cliche of aunties and even going marathons and excursions
and the cute pasta! can you make out the shapes? :P
I cant wait to cook the cute pasta! Gonna find new ways to cook the sauce~

Bet On it
I saw this from the high school muscial 2 which was showing on tv last night.
I thought the lyrics are somewhat meaningful :)
Everybody's always talking at me
Everybody's trying to get in my head
I wanna listen to my own heart talking
I need to count on myself instead
Chorus:
Did you ever?
Loose yourself to get what you want
Did you ever?
Get on a ride and wanna get off
Did you ever?
Push away the ones you should've held close
Did you ever let go?
Did you ever not know?
I'm not gonna stop, that's who I am
I'll give it all I got, that is my plan
Will I find what I lost?
You know you can
Bet on it, bet on it
Bet on it, bet on it
(Bet on me)
I wanna make it right, that is the way
To turn my life around, today is the day
Am I the type of guy who means what I say?
Bet on it, bet on it
Bet on it, bet on it
How will I know if there's a path worth taking?
Should I question every move I make?
With all I’ve lost my heart is breaking
I don't wanna make the same mistake
Chorus:
Did you ever? Doubt your dream will ever come true
Did you ever?
Blame the world and never blame you
I will never
Try to live a lie again
I don't wanna win this game if I can't play it my way
I'm not gonna stop, that's who I am
(Who I am)
I'll give it all I got, that is my plan
(That's my plan)
Will I find what I lost?
You know you can
(You know you can)
Bet on it, bet on it
Bet on it, bet on it
Bet on me
I wanna make it right, that is the way
To turn my life around, today is the day
Am I the type of guy who means what I say
Bet on it, bet on it
Bet on it, bet on it
Oh,Hold up
Give me room to think
Bring it on down
Gotta work on my swing
Gotta do my own thing
Hold up
It's no good at all
To see yourself and not recognize your face
Out on my own, it's such a scary place
The answers are all inside of me
All I gotta do is believe
I'm not gonna stop
Not gonna stop 'til I get my shot
That's who I am, that is my plan
Will I end up on top?
You can bet on it, bet on it
Bet on it, bet on it
You can bet on it, bet on it
Bet on it, bet on it
I wanna make it right, that is the way
To turn my life around, today is the day
Am I the type of guy who means what I say
Bet on it, bet on it
Bet on it, bet on it
You can bet on me

when I think I am gaining more confidence of myself.. the weight gain is eroding it again
and I think I am kinda isolating myself too much till I feel.. nothin.
anyway
oh update on my baby
his good buddy
Recession? Gen Y not worried
A RECESSION looms but anecdotal evidence suggests that there are young Singaporeans who do not expect the partying to end.
The last time the economy shrank was in 2001, with bleak prospects for new job-seekers. But the good times came back by 2004.
This time, though, many are predicting that the bad times will really hit hard. But belt-tightening may be a hard act for some, especially those aged 30 and below.
**********
well well.. NOT ALL are not worried. shucks.
There's a case in the papers whereby they interviewed an undergraduate who mentioned she will not change her spending ways because "mum and dad will provide".
She said, "I think it is okay for me to mention my current lifestyle. I may be spending a little bit more than my friends but I don't think I'm overspending."
And she shops twice a month in shops like TOPSHOP, and goes on overseas vacations with her friends where she would spend $1000 on shopping alone.
And she even mentioned she cannot understand why her friend cannot just ask her parents for money.
..cause her friend chose NOT TO?
Although different families have different ways and capacities of providing for the child, I just feel, the child can just "choose not to" rely too much on the parents.
It is always alittle better to be alittle thrifty.
Or at least be alittle more independent/careful with money matters.
If from young, one develops the habit of "asking for money" from parents all the time, then when working, will it lead to asking for money from others eg bf/husband or else develope the reliance on "future money" aka credit card?
"Of 507 people who went to Credit Counselling Singapore for help in the first nine months of this year, 18 per cent were under-30s, up from 8 percent of 573 in 2006"
Maybe I do not have the luxury. What matters is that, I can stand on my own two feet, earn my own keep and not depend on anyone. Just spend within own means I guess.
Having someone to depend on is not the same as depending on someone, the former, you can choose not to ( unless emergencies), the latter, you depend on someone whenever you run into financial problems.
And in recent years.. I just feel.. having money is just a "plus point"
not that I am not earning myself.
What matters more to me now, is having a engaging lifestyle and having someone to engage with me.
Engage in conversations, engage emotionally, engaging activities to do together.
Money wise, can always be earned. It's a matter of having how much only.
You can have all the materials provided by a rich bf, but if he is doing nothing to engage you, will you truly be happy?
Of course, not everyone thinks this way.

Taking a long deep breath
anyway, today found an interesting thread.
"can gf propose to bf?"
and the gal is 23 the guy is 24 and dating for 5 years.
most said yes, if he's a catch
some said yes, if he has not hinted at all
some said no, its a guy's job
some said depends, depending how long together
but the one reason i love most
some said depends, whether he has the mindset or not
its not like forcing the bf to get committed immediately, its to find out whether he is able to "commit" to a higher level, like higher sense of responsibilities towards the gf or their future etc
some can stay on for years yet not prepared at all, some can stay together for much shorter time and think that they got "the one"
time, is never a good judgement in this sense.
beside all the fantasizing of the white wedding and gowns whatsoever..
however amid the replies, i found a logical post by someone who said
"Hey Girl. Im not opposed to you proposing nor you going for marriage at the age for 23, because contrary to others, if your mindset is right, i.e, you wish to settle down with your loved one in a family as a wife and you're sure he's the one whom you wanna spend the rest of the life with, then go ahead.
But hor, what Im worried is, is your BF ready? Is he ready to commit to a marriage? Is he ready to be a husband? A husband and a boyfriend is different. With a successful proposal, there comes a wedding, a love nest(house), so on and so forth. Is your BF ready emotionally, financially?
The question is not about you 2 have been together for 5 years. Some couples can be together for 7 or 10 years but they are still not ready to be married as husband as wife. On the contrary, some couples can be together for 6mths or 1 year, but their mindset are ready for marriage. It's also not about age either. It's the mindset
How about you "analyze" him before taking any actions. He must be a good bf if you stayed with him for 5 years. But do you think he will be a good husband too? Living in together with him will be a good preview. Open the topic about marriage by talking about your friend's marriage. If dont have, then you spin 1 story la, just to get his views on
1)When should a couple get married
2) why should a couple get married
3) after married, is there any differences to living pattern, lifestyle, duties, roles etc
4) will he want to stay with parents
5) is there anything he cant accept for a wife, e.g, cant cook etc
6) how much savings he think is enough for a wedding and marriage
7) how ready is him emotionally and financially to be a husband(be very tactful)
etc
A successful marriage is much more important than a successful proposal or wedding. Hope you get what I mean..."
marriage, is never easy.
and marriage, is never certain.
then finally ask yourself
"how do you know he is the one?"

Days are passing
Dear has been trying to cheer me up and he said will plan something for me.. thanks to him for his efforts
I know I aint in the best of moods since mon maybe.. due to exam stress ..
Its been a long time since I have taken any major exams and I want to prove to myself that I can still make it.
Dear is being silly some days just to make me laugh.
Maybe I should loosen up alittle.. I have been too serious these few days, to the point of sarcasm taken over me most of the time..not good not good.
Anyway I have a few major birthday wishes LOL
in random order
-good grades
-good figure
-good wealth
-good health
-good relations
:)
I am still vain, but "afforably" vain. And I would like to think I still look good.
Do you think so? LOL
On another note, my second sis gave me a new red Aldo clutch and a new shu umera eyelash curler(highly recommended~by us) LOL cause she finds my other clutches too "cutesy" hmm

I wonder
I need to search my brain too.
Are my reasonings and values wrong?
Is it to my disadvantage that I show independence?

stop procrastinating
Morning groomed snoopi and I trimmed off like 1-2 inch of fur? lol looks like a lamb..
In the afternoon did some revision and tutorial questions and later in the evening went Jurong Point with family for dinner.
We had Fish N Co~ fishy fishy.. good for the brain.
Oh my health checkup results are back and i'm well on track :) maybe alittle anaemic hmm
We had a seafood platter, salmon heaven and fish N chips among the 5 of us.
Then it was back home to hit the books.
Open book yet so tedious to interpret.. oh gosh, Business Law is interesting to read, tedious to answer tsk tsk..
Both sisters have confirmed their overseas travel plans for this year.. me so envious hmm never mind, ć èŠćç and after graduation, I'll plan a great getaway :P
I have terminated my Investments.. rather cut my losses early cause I do not really have the confidence in the markets now or anytime in the near future.. maybe I can start another fixed monthly savings plan.
Interest rates are climbing so better grab the offer soon and find one most suitable for the amount you can afford to set aside.
I encouraged mum to start another HSBC montly savings account to be more disciplined and organised too.
So far OCBC and MAYBANK have good rates for fixed montly savings plan.
Oh another way to save money. No credit cards please.
Links I found to be informative, worth taking a look.

Making Merry
The colleagues at workplace surprised me with the first present of the year.. little bees and butterflies cuppies cakes! So sweet of them~ so instead of 1 cake, i have 9 hahah
Then at night treated some close friends to steamboat dinner for a mini celebration and am glad they liked it. We had Steamboat at Paradise on Earth at Tanjong Katong road and their satay sauce is one of their speciality! Its a novelty and its good too. And thus we talked and ate for like 2 hrs? hahahha
Then we went over to WINEBOS to chill and have some wine. In the end, we had a white and two bottles red wine ..gosh I never drank so much wine at one sitting before.. but its all cool and cosy chilling and chatting with them.. with the newly married couple and sharon.
Heard them talk about work, future and of course married life :)
I just feel so happy for them, like they said, marriage life is without quarrels and disagreements, its how you handle and how you decide to work things out, or get around it.
Anyway the wife was telling us some "tips" on how to be a dutiful wife :P
Siying's hubby sent us all home after that.
from colleagues
Round 1 only hahahha
dear dear~
white wine.. this is sweet!
round 2

And... we had steamboat for dinner again! LOL! Twice in a row~ fully satisfied my steamboat cravings.
Dear sent me back after that..

I like all of them. Thanks alot again.
And today Dear drove me to vivo and back home. hee
I feel so ... loved. Like my status has been upgraded. hahaha
Feel so different sitting in front as I am always at the back when his family drives.
Nonetheless thanks todear and dear friends for these two days.
Sad to say, Dear and I decided to "isolate" for the exams..
Never mind, its just temporary..
Ganbatte to us!
And I will have more time for dear again when holidays start.
