"..Despite what we may think, good looks actually do very little to improve our happiness. It is tempting to think: If only I were better-looking, I would be much happier. But in fact, beautiful people turn out to be scarcely happier than the rest of us. So perhaps it is wise not to place too much emphasis on how we look.
It is natural for us to wan to make progress in key areas of our lives. So we need not be ashamed of wanting to look healthy, well-groomed and attractive. But, as with so much else in life, it is all a matter of balance"
consoling myself you may think.. i wouldnt know .. never really ask the better-looking people around me if they are happier or not.
If you think you are better-looking, will you be truely happier?
I used to think if I am better-looking, dress better or even try to learn how to do makeup, i might feel more confident.
In a sense, yes and no.
Its all skin deep. There will always be people on the streets seemingly better ( as pointed by the bf or the guys around me sometimes )and I will never be satisfied.
And if the bf points out some girls he deems as pretty on the streets, that will instill a tinge of jealously in me.
I would like to accept gracefully about his and their comments about other pretty girls and agree along.
So maybe i should fret less of my appearance and work on other aspects.. finance wise, education wise, career wise, maybe my portfolio of hobbies and artworks might even be better.
I would like to think that. I will think that.
Just as long as it makes me happy. :)
and thus
pity the bf cause he has a gf that doesnt have the knack for makeup.
LOL
