watched BLOOD DIAMOND yesterday
saw the review on CNA ..
5 stars review! so wanted to see for myself whether its worth all the hype..
AND IT SURE WAS.. bloody worth the 5 stars
was kinda serious when i was watchin the show
he kept askin why i dun smile at all
why should i smile during the show?
its not meant to be funny anyway
and i like to give my full concentration to all shows i watched ..
and i like to review after i watched it..
to me its not just a form or recreation
its meant to be understood, to decipher, to reflect on ..
so thats why i dont like to watch animations or chick flicks

cause to me

there's just a waste of time with no proper storylines or plots
(yes i am bias again)
and it made me think twice about buying diamonds after this show
he heaved a sigh of relief
i was kinda irritated
did i ever say i need him to buy me diamonds?
did i ever request him to buy me anything?
i sound arrogant but i do not believe in asking others to buy things for myself
i am not as thick skinned to SIEVE from others too ..
if i can afford it i can jolly well buy it for myself
i do not have to worry about " you bought me this now i have to repay you another time"

blah

such a feminist i am but that's me
anyway back to the show ..

the Afican continent..
they have the world largest source of diamonds.. and the biggest too.. in case you do not know..
alot of the ENGLISH MONARCHY got their gems from there too
sad to say
most of its people do not have the means to possess one
none seen the "processed rock"



and some REBEL groups exploited its people to sieve for it to finance their war activities
killings and more killings of its own people..

i did not have much time for anythin else.. beside the numerous remedials and enrichment classes
schedule went somethin like this

rehearsals, camps, musicals, rehearsals, exchange trips, carollings..

i was lucky to have a supportin mum who saved up all she could to send me for those overseas trips..luckily my school did a lot of fund raising too
so i am only repayin her back now..

was packing my stuff when i dug out some pics taken on my oversea trips
my most memorable was to ITaly

i might now have been as "IN" or as "Happening"
but at least sec sch was the most memorable to me

great experience with lush and comfy seats with lots of leg space.. and BIG SCREEN

the whole show was great
although fell abit below my expectation
was too short and mostly abt the young boy .. not much of a battle ..YET

the dragon was adorable when young and it cause alot of the audience to "Cooed" abt it
AND THEN THE GALS BESIDE ME KEPT DOIN IT
i do not mind if u say its cute etc.. but please keep the volume to the minimum..
they kept doin it "aww so cute so adorable" for so long and so loud that i can hear every single pronounciation

and i do not know why

its such simple english ..cannot catch the words?

and so..
my virgin experience in GV VIVO was MARRED by such irritations

to counter the increase of GST there's the workfare bonus which is to benefit the lower income group who might need more cash on hand

and this is the proposed allocation of workfare bonus

NTUC suggests 40% of Workfare benefits go into savings scheme

which to me makes no sense at all

ppl are already short of cash
they need more CASH ON HAND instead
not into some savings acct

Elitism = term some SIngaporeans to describe an over-emphasis on academic performance

was readin abt ELIISM in the papers yesterday

what can i say?

its a known fact
to me that is

the "ELITE" and the "MAINSTREAMERS"
the "RICH" and the "COMMONERS"

can never be intergrated.. well enough

i do not see how the government can bridge the gap
i feel that the gap will just keep increasing.. no matter what packages they are trying to come up with ..

its not just the COMMONERS who are FULL OF ENVY
i feel its the ELITE AND THE RICH who are getting snobbish
the younger generation that is.. the sheltered lot

i support the notion "we go for meritocracy but must not end up being selfish"

the ELITE lot tend to move around their own social circles
oblivious to "other quarters" around them
they're in their own world whereby most of their needs and wants are well taken care of..
they ASSUME alot of things about themselves and ppl around them ESP those who are not within their "educational range or income range"

eg
a pri 6 student from the GEP was flamed on the Internet for saying in her letter to the PRESS that she thought "mainstreamers" were less mature than GEPers like her and that was why she preferred to be in a specialised class that "lets them interact with ppl like her"

i quote a paragraph from the article

"..members of the elite look out for themselves and use their connections to open doors only for their own kind and it is easy to see how the anger and resentment can build up"

i sound bias?
i sound envious?
i just feel unjustifiable
