Joy to You and Me

From MIND YOUR BODY Jan 29, 2009

I like this article alot too :)
decided to lift some paragraphs out

"I view joy as a natural state of being that occurs when we are being authentic in accepting reality and living fully in the present"

"those actively seeking happiness should engage in activities that are enjoyable, absorbing and deeply meaningful"

"Feelings of happiness, can have a knock-on effect, leading people to other positive activities like opening up to others and excersing"

*****

some advice on how to kick-start a happier life

Count your blessings

Money cant buy happiness
-engage in more meaningful activities like bondin with family and friends

Avoid Toxic people

Show gratitude and appreciation

Keep things in perspective
-balancing your expectations with the reality of your situation and your own perception of things
It can be real simple but sometimes amid the circumstances we are in, we tend to forget about it.

Numerological Portrait

I'm a SEVEN

If your Life-Path number is SEVEN, depth of thinking and the ability to gain knowledge from most everything will be something you’ve experienced since an early age. SEVEN is considered the ‘spiritual’ number and such qualities as intuition will be prominent.

Those with a SEVEN Life-Path are usually peaceful and affectionate. You may not have many friends as a SEVEN, but the ones you do have will be for life. You’re a compassionate and caring friend. As a SEVEN, you will likely be able to sense deception from others quickly and you’re not likely to be wrong. A balance between time with others and private time taken to be alone with your thoughts and dreams is essential.

It is common for SEVENS to be seen as aloof due to their selective socializing and required time alone. If the truth be told, many SEVENS feel a sense of insecurity. This may be because much of a SEVENS ‘reality’ is not tangible. You will rely heavily on instincts and intuition. At times this insecurity can lead to pessimism or loneliness. Mood swings are also not uncommon.

SEVEN personalities are generally reserved and analytical in their assessments of truth. As a SEVEN, you will need to find and draw your own conclusions with evidence before accepting other’s notions. Key qualities/words for a SEVEN Life-Path are analysis, understanding, knowledge, awareness, studious and meditating.

The life purpose for a SEVEN is to experience life to the fullest through learning and processing knowledge. Perhaps even more so, a SEVEN needs to learn how to trust in themselves and their deeper feelings about life around them. The development of a sense of security can be a life long challenge with periods of time that are marked with a lack of emotional stability.

The SEVEN that chooses to not get out into the world and to grasp all there is to learn, can become negative and selfish. An attitude that says the world owes them can also happen. To experience life at it’s utmost, a SEVEN must face their fears and insecurities and face whatever comes their way. There is much a SEVEN can give to the world around.

2nd day of CNY 2009

Woke around 8am and I went over to dear's place to bai nian around 11am and reached around 1230pm.
Greeted his family members then later went over to his mum's workplace to bai nian as she's working.

Had mac for lunch.. then later head back to my place.

Dear bai nian with my parents when back home then waited for relatives to make their way over. It's a yearly "ritual" that my house will host my paternal relatives lol.

There were around 3 families and dear and I helped mum to prepare steamboat dinner and entertain the relatives.
Quite a feat, with the amount of food we managed to do in that short time.
There's even "cold platter" and black pepper pork.

We played cards after dinner too and when I thought I had lost, the last round when I was the banker, I got double A LOL, triple payment from all the players and I managed to win a few bucks :P

Relatives left around 10pm and dear left shortly after too.
Tiring to be host family but as mum says "家里要有人气", like that then it's more like celebrating CHinese New Year :)

And I think I kinda put on weight le lar LOL with the many varieties of goodies mum had prepared.. like ten different containers sitting on my table now.

CNY Goodies~~

Sat 240109

Met my classmates around 930am in school for project then went over to NTU's library to do more research. Dear then fetch me from NTU after his class ended.

We went over to PASIR RIS fishing pond again lol cause dear wanted to "check it out"
It's damn happening, the short time we were there, we saw this same uncle caught 3 "ang chor" and had such a good fight..

Then it was lunch at Burger King in WhiteSands..
that place really brought back memories.. hmm when dear was in BMT I used to fetch him and sent him to Pasir ris every week.

Then it was back to dear's place cause i wanted to watch "RED CLIFF I" again and he has the DVD at home.

At night dear sent me back and brought some CNY goodies for my family.
Dear also accompanied my parents to do some CNY shopping at the marketplace near me.
Dear then bought more cny goods back for his family and sent parents and I back home before making his way home again.

from dear hee and some CNY cookies.

SUN 250109

Did some last minute cleaning up, bathed Snoopi and helped mum prepared dunno how many kg of meat for the dinner.. I never cut so much "pig kidney" in my life zzz and I do not want to eat it for few months to come.
This year our dinner was "potluck" style. Each family prepared different categories and my mum was in charge of "meat section". Mum and I prepared chicken, pork, ham and pig liver. Dad fetched us in the afternoon around 3pm to go grandpa's place and we waited for the other relatives to arrive around 6 before starting dinner..
Looking at Grandpa, I think he is happy just looking at us eating.

Then it was back home and we waited to countdown the new year.
I couldnt bear with the pain my teeth was causing me so tried to catch some winks then sis woke me up when the time struck 12.

We did a group hug, with Snoopi! And wished one another.
LOL

I love my family.
I know they will always be there for me, as much as they can.

Grandpa's place, this is only ONE SIDE of the living room.
THE WHOLE HOUSE is RED.

We had two tables inside the house lol

I like the gatherings. I do not like the way how some relatives talk.

Eg
An aunt said that I am so old already still take ang pow.. reason why i never marry so that can take more ang pow is it.
I kinda laugh abt it, must have a BIGGER heart to endure.

And ALMOST all conversations with relatives will be like
them : "when are you getting married"
Me :"I am studying"
them :"can marry then study"
Me :""study no money how to marry"
them :"can loan from family"
Me :""i dont want to depend on family"
them :"or else split the money to marry and study"
Me :""then how you support family like that"
them :...

yip, it's a love-hate affair when going for gatherings..
COME ON.
NOT MARRIED DOESNT MEAN I AM A FAILURE ALRIGHT. zzz
I got "backbone" wan de woh LOL.

On another note, I bling my nails again LOL
gold ribbons with white lace and crystals
ALL my sis bling their nails too
It's good that I stocked up on my nail collection :P
