To the enhanced Baby Bonus that is.
I just feel that the government is neglecting the more essential problems and going straight for monetary benefits.
Not all couples will be entice by the money initiatives which is 6K for the first and second child. Though its good to have that sum for couples who intend to have, but for those who do not intend to have or who are already earning well, it takes much more than just money sense.
Instead they should look into "what does a family need?"
and go for the various factors and how to enhace receptivity to it.
eg, money is very important in keeping a family thus the need to instill money management skills into youngsters first even before trying to use SDU to invade their orientations and making "good clean fun" into "match-making sessions"
A worrying report recently mentioned about 15% of bankrupts are people below 30 due to them "living up" either through swiping their credit cards, cars etc
Have more counselling or get-together sessions for couples who plan to get married to explore the factors in keeping a marriage/family together or to explore the reasons to start a family than to just use "family oriented commercials"
Instill the importance of family bonding from young, I have seen families losing its unity as soon as the child goes to work thus the "advantages" of a family might not sit well with these people.
Imagine you want to start a family but for all the wrong reasons.
How long can 6K last anyway with inflation at 7%?
like someone said, "words are cheap, talk is easy"
Before even starting a family, let's talk about marriage.
A friend commented that marriage is not the "ending point" for dating life. Its the start to a lifetime of more responsibilities and commitment with other positive aspects too.
I believe, marriage is because "the two persons are willing to share their responsibilities, to be each other solace and support for that next phrase in life"
