last night and it wasnt as bad as I thought .. yet
Tried gauging the time and we only managed to reach the school around 645pm..either we have to leave earlier or else will be taking the staff bus to clementi instead.. I thought I can save some money on transport by taking public buses.. hmm I think I should be packing dinner from work to school to eat instead.
Everyone listened attentively and then after lecture we tried making friends and also to know people to form group for projects.
Individual assignment due by week 6 and project work due by week 10
Lesson ended at 10 and we managed to get home in an hr.
And it will be an uphill battle from now on.
and I NEED NEW SPECS!! argh the projector screen is so "itsy bitsy" to me

Sat
Morning was spent grooming Snoopi, trimming and brushing his fur and after that i packed the house before meeting Dear at PS for the show "WANTED".
Its a fast paced show with various twist in the story about a son seeking revenge for his father and about this "Fratenity" of assasins, interesting graphics too. My Next aim will be "HELLBOY 2" and "Knight of Darkness" lol, i'm still an Action fan.
Then went over to beach road for steamboat! Mala Steamboat and BBQ and the soup stung me lol but i like it :P
We then proceeded over to bugis village to shop though again nothing much caught my fancy...its about the same as the last time i went there.
THEN, I got very irritated with a salesgal of this beauty shop. I just stepped into the shop and the sales gal was very "enthusiastic" about her products, pushy even.
And when I saw i just want to take alook around, she looked at me from head to bottom then ask me if I need slimming products, i said no, asked if i shave, i refused to answer, asked me if i need to "firm" whatever parts, i refused to answer.
Its so personal and kinda rude, if i need anything I WILL ASK.
I NEED SLIMMING PRODUCTS?
I grumbled my way out of the shop, what did the salesgal expect me to be? like stick rail thin then consider "do not need slimming products" argh i am of ideal weight for my height.
Anyway dear treated me to DURIANS! at Bugis lol "mao shan" durians and its so "finger lickin good" to sit and eat along the street.
Then we went back to watch "HELLBOY" on DVD.
SUN
Morning we went IKEA with dear's mum to have lunch there. The swedish meatballs and the chicken wings were still hot favourites of us. I bought a whole set of tupperwares too to bring my meals from home.
We then went over to Pasir Ris farmway to look at the marine fishes there and dear bought 2 more to add into his fishtank.
Dear then came back with me and we brought Snoopi out to the Jurong Lake Park. Its nice and breezy and we had a good stroll and good scenery. We couldnt manage to find the dog park though.. hmm shall try again. We also attempted to let Snoopi run loose in public to see if he's receptive to us. Snoopi is learning to walk slowly and beside us already and not dashing around rashly, the body harness plays a big part too in controlling him.
Now just had dinner at home and watching TV with dear.
Thanks dear for accompanying me again though i think i grumbled and had lots of grouses.. tsk tsk
I will really try to quit that bad habit.

Snoopi made new friend a shihtzu on friday
Friday, June 27, 2008
On a friday night.
Both my arms are itching badly and with mosquito bites and a huge bruise on one.. tsk tsk
I think its gonna peel soon.. and my arms look "BBQed" on one side
Brought Snoopi down for a walk and to find dad.
Found alot of people fishing at the canal behind my place, there's even a guy who went down into the canal with a fishing net.
Randoms..
Printed my notes, bought my books, printed my schedule, using my trusty haversack.
Now waiting to get my stationery, waiting to pick up my mood.
Someone asked, "are you prepared?"
i do not know what else to prepare beside the tangible stuff.
maybe when the time comes for me to step into the lecture hall again after so many years.. i will prepare myself mentally again.
Was talking to dear about what we can do over the weekends and he suggested to go shopping >.<
lol I am trying hard not to shop but dear said I havent been shopping ever since we came back from Taiwan..
Maybe it will make me happy and perk me up before my school starts on monday.
Thanks.
Ganbatte to both of us!

biggest catch ever!
onshore for dear and me..
Dear was talkin to me when his reel suddenly gave a screechin sound and the line just went out at top speed! He quickly held onto his rod lest it fell into the sea and gave a tight jerk and started reeling in while exclaiming his line was going out too fast and might just be pulled totally out.
The THING which was pulling onto the line was so strong that dear had to support the rod with his body and it was a tough fight between whatever was biting the line and him..
The rod actually bent at least 45 degrees while he was reeling in and finally around 10 minutes or more .. dear shouted at me to look into the sea to identify what he had caught..
"cant see yet!"
dear reeled in more..
"stingray!!"
and it was BIG. almost 1-2 feet wide.. dear reckoned it was more than 10kg..
He tried to reel it up but it was too heavy then he tried to pull the stingray to the side and tried to haul it from the side but still too heavy, i helped him to hold the rod while he used a cloth to slowly pull it in when suddenly the line snapped!
That THING just snapped dear's 40pound line.. with the hook still in its mouth.
What a pity!Though dear caught it but we did not have the proper apparatus to land it..
But at least dear enjoyed the process of fighting it..
Dont worry dear, we'll do it again soon.
and now gerry comes in two shades of colour lol

Snoopi's Fell sick
Dad drove me and mum and snoopi to the vet in the morning, diagnosis was
-fever
-gastric problem
so in the end snoopi had a jab to lower his temperature and also some diarrhoea medication and antibiotics, vet also suggested to let him eat prorridge only to sooth his tummy.
After i footed the bill, dad drove me to take bus back to office while mum and dad will take care of snoopi today.
The doting grandpa fed snoopi porridge too and gave him medication and now he's much better..
my poor boy tsk tsk..

On another note, was talkin with colleagues about money and how some people kept borrowing money yet "forget/refuse" to return when they are able or else those that use money that they had borrowed to pay for "entertainment" or other things that are not essential.
Someone said, "有钱人,用有钱人的方法, 没钱人,用没钱人的方法"
which means, if its out of your means or you are already using other people's money, you should be more humble with your expenditure. Already claim to have no money yet still can go out and play, entertain or buy things that are not essential.
Not that the people around me are stingy but it is really disheartening and also gets on one's nerves to see that some able people or those who can afford or can work just doesnt want to use their own money and think that money is easily available and that mentality is really dreadful.
Over-reliance on other people will just cause them to be selfish and also lazy.
Sometimes the easiest way to learn is the hardest way to learn. To stop all support or to force them into dire situations so that they will learn.
Some people will never know the importance of money till they have none themselves and without support. Then they will be forced to think. If not, they will always have this mentality, "help is always available" and the vicious cycle or asking others for money will always repeat itself. The least one can do is to be "self-sufficient".
And still on the topic of money, I realised my CPF investment has dropped a few K in profit..time to do a re-evaluation. Tsk tsk..and dear's keeping tab of my expenditure for me too -_- cause he claims I always complain about my school fees...

More people aged below 30 finding themselves in huge debt
By Teo Cheng Wee
THEY are under 30, employed and deep in debt.
This is the fastest-growing age group of debtors, say credit counsellors.
On average, they owe $55,000 to about seven creditors, according to new data from Credit Counselling Singapore (CCS), a non-profit group which advises debtors.
Under-30s made up 9 per cent of all cases handled by them in 2006 and 13 per cent last year.
In the first three months of this year, it was up to 15 per cent.
CCS told The Sunday Times that most of these young adults are done in by materialism and a desire for the high life. They splash out on cars, branded goods, overseas holidays, clubbing and gadgets.
Several also gamble away their money.
Young adults are not just facing credit woes - they are also forming a bigger percentage of those who become bankrupt, according to the latest figures from credit analysis firm Amequity.
Last year, people aged 30 and below made up 7 per cent of all bankrupts. In the first four months of this year, that has increased to 12 per cent.

Another reason why I am trying not to get myself a card. More perks, more temptations to spend.

US schoolgirls make pact to have babies: report
WASHINGTON, June 19, 2008 - A GROUP of US schoolgirls in the Massachusetts fishing town of Gloucester made a pact to get pregnant and raise their babies together, a report said on Thursday.
Time magazine reported that 17 girls at Gloucester High School are expecting babies 'more than four times the number of pregnancies the 1,200-student school had last year.' 'Nearly half the expecting students, none older than 16, confessed to making a pact to get pregnant and raise their babies together,' Mr Joseph Sullivan, principal of the high school in the fishing and beach town told Time.
The father of one of the babies was a 24-year-old homeless man, Mr Sullivan told the weekly news magazine.
According to the Boston Globe newspaper, other men 'involved in the pregnancies are in their mid-20s, a fact that prompted Mayor Carolyn Kirk of Gloucester to ask about statutory rape charges at last month's School Committee meeting.' None of the girls who made the alleged pregnancy pact or their parents agreed to speak with Time, which wrote that Gloucester High 'has done perhaps too good a job of embracing young mothers,' providing them with on-site childcare and healthcare facilities. -- AFP

Case of being naive, ignorant, misinformed or just a "lifestyle choice"?
I just feel sorry for the babies who are being conceived due to a "pact" made.

School Orientation and Lure Fishing
Sat
I went school in the morning to attend orientation and also to settle enrolment for the course. There's almost 150 of us in the PT course and alot of them seem so young.. hmm not surprising.. but anyway I kinda gotten used to it after poly days -_-"
Afternoon, I went to meet Dear at Bugis and we had the famous prawn me but in my opinion, I think the standard has dropped quite abit though the price has also inreased quite abit tsk tsk ..
And we went to look at lures LOL
I learnt new things again, the types of lure, the methods and the way the different lures work. Then off we went to East Coast to test Dear's new lures :)
Though it was quite a sunny day, the wind was cooling and with Dear as company, its so soothing and relazing. We went to try lure fishing at breakwater to jetty to even canals lol
Dont underestimate canals cause we found a group of youngsters fishing at canals and they managed to land quite some catch.
Dinner was with Dear's mum at Old Airport Road. Everyone should go there and try the different varieties of food there, especially the BBQ fish, satay and the Otah.
Oh the chicken wing there is juicy and tender too.
Dear's collection of lures
Catfish!
Notice something different?
The satay is tender and not those minced meat, the sauce is with pineapple too
Sun
Dear came back with me last night and this morning we went for breakfast together. I also bought breakfast for the family and afternoon we went to try lure fishing at the canal behind my place. There's alot of fishes there! But sad to say, we did not manage to land any catch, maybe the water was too murky but I heard some uncles fishing there that there were times when people landed Tomans etc
Never mind, fishing is all about the experience and these few weeks of fishing with Dear has made us more patient with each other. At least, I think fishing is a healthier hobby and an acquired one too, there's alot of information one needs to know to understand and ways to execute out.
Dad came back and drove all of us to grandpa's place in the evening and then Dear went back home after that while mum and I went Jurong Point to do some marketing and also to have our dinner.
And so...my time was spent with Dear, family and grandpa and also for myself lol cause I packed my drawers for my school books and files.
Anyway, thanks to Dear for accompanying me again. I love you lots.
Hopefully, we still have time for each other when both of us start school in a week's time.

Yesterday, Sis bought some interesting eggtarts from IMM and they're filled with various fillings and later at night, mum came back from work with eggtarts too.
And so I had eggtarts for last night supper and today's lunch lol
And so I had eggtarts for last night supper and today's lunch lol
My falsies which i ordered online came in through the mail
And I decided to get only the Avene Toner after much pondering..
I know, I always say I want to get alot of things but in the end I will hesitate as I had too many "I want" situations before and then I never use the things I bought often and in the end it will be to waste and its really "heartpain" to wallet.
Now I will really draft out what I Need or what I lack.
Till the next "I want" feeling comes up again lol then my heart/hands will feel itchy and I will ponder again :P

Inflation erodes real gains in wages
WAGES here have risen by close to 11 per cent, the highest in almost a decade.
But the impact of soaring food and fuel prices meant that for employees in manufacturing, transport and administrative jobs, their real wages - pay minus the effect of inflation - actually fell.
The Manpower Ministry's labour market report for the first quarter, released yesterday, is the first set of official figures to show the impact of inflation, at a 26-year high of 6.6 per cent, on the wage increases that workers across different sectors received.
And with annual inflation forecast at 6 per cent this year, analysts were not entirely optimistic.
National University of Singapore labour economist Park Cheolsung said it is a matter of time before real earnings dip for those in other sectors.
The report noted that on average, real earnings grew by 3.6 per cent compared to the same three-month period last year.
Workers made $4,316 a month on average this quarter. But after adjusting for inflation, they effectively earned $3,982.
This monthly figure is derived from an average of all full-time and part-time CPF members.
Rising global prices of food and fuel saw the consumer price index rise by 6.6 per cent in the first three months of this year.
The Government rolled out help schemes for the needy and the strong Singapore dollar is helping maintain purchasing power. The National Wages Council also asked firms to give one-off bonuses to help rank-and-file workers cope with inflation.
Still, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has said the best way to manage rising prices is to grow the economy so real incomes outpace inflation.
But for now, salary consultant Peter Lee is not optimistic real earnings can do so. 'Nobody can control inflation, and most employers cannot adjust wages to fight it,' said the managing consultant of RDS Remuneration Data Specialists.
His firm's recent survey of 200 companies showed pay packets were likely to rise by 5 per cent - lower than what prices have risen already by, and below the 6 per cent inflation forecast this year.
But for now, the economy is growing, with jobs aplenty.
The ministry's report showed a record 73,200 new jobs from January to March. This includes 46,500 in services, 14,500 in construction and 11,800 in manufacturing.
But unemployment crept up to 2 per cent in March, from 1.7 per cent in December. Among residents, the rate was 2.9 per cent, up from 2.4 per cent.
As for vacancies, there were 38,200 openings in March with more jobs for professionals, managers, executives, technicians, clerical, sales and service staff.
Analysts like Dr Park believe unemployment may rise and job growth could slow - a point backed by a Monetary Authority of Singapore survey of economists, who see growth slowing to 4.7 per cent this quarter.

Gastronomical weekend!
My family celebrated Father's day on Saturday while dear's family celebrated Father's day today.
My sisters and I treated the dear dad to dinner at Chin Huat Restaurant at Sunset Way.
Even the xiaomei contributed haha that's nice of her and mum invited dear to our little celebration too.
Dear stayed over and this morning we went to the market near lakeside to have breakfast, it was the last day of operation before the market is due for a major overhaul.
I will definitely miss the food over there as some stalls might not shift over to the temporary market.
At home, we decided to let the pig roam freely in the house and make friends with snoopi lol
Then in the afternoon, dear and i went Prawning! We had checked out the lakeside fishing pond near chinese garden on Thursday and decided to give it a try today lol
Even dear who is so into fishing hasnt been to a prawn pond before. The feeling of prawnin was so different due to the lightness of rod and the weight of the catch but nonetheless, we managed to get the hang of it and soon we caught 17 prawns lol which we steamed when we went back to dear's place.
For Dear's Father's Day celebration, his sister drove us to Ban Leong Wah Hoe near Thomson. The name of the place is too long so I shall stick to "Ban Leong" instead.
The queue was horrendorous! There were scores of people waiting around tables even though the whole place was fully occupied and only around 6pm but we managed to get our seats around 15mins of waiting.
And dear's family sent me back after that, really grateful and thankful for the ride home.
Must always 饮水思源 and 感恩.
In conclusion : Good food + family = 人间享受 + 促进感情
:)

He rejected me flatly.
