A Choice

Euthanasia is immoral
as said by Archbishop Chia, THE head of Singapore's Catholic Church.

"This is a matter of life and death. It is not up to you or me to decide."

Then WHO can decide? How about NON-believers in that faith?

I just think that, under certain circumstances, one should have the choice to "go in peace" instead.
I rather the authories work out under what "certain circumstances" will the patient be entitled to choose rather than "leave to fate".

Isnt "prolonging life by machines" also as artificial as "bringing out death"?
If life is only prolonged by machine, isnt stopping the machine "natural" in this case?

"Most times, people do not want to die, she said. Instead, they want to end the pain they are feeling, so ensuring patients receive proper palliative care is crucial. "

But at the end of the "struggle", it still ends in death then why prolong the pain?

Maybe the idea of "mercy killing" doesnt sit well with ALL, but that doesnt mean the real genuine cases need to be forsaken due to ideals of some groups.
