preparing my CNY

took leave on fri to do spring cleanin and marketin with my parents to stock up on food and essentials

spent first half of the day at the market and helped to lug all the plastic bags back haha
then second half of the day was spend polishin my furniture
my furniture all wood so cant use damp cloth need to polish .. its hard work and its efforts paid off when u can see the shine haha

then packed my cupboards and threw away alot of mags, books and even shoes

my books cupboard
maj of space put comics LOL
then the rest my cd collection and mags which i collected over the years
mostly jap rock music mag
and also some encyclopedia for the occassional "intellectual" in us haha




threw away my only pair of boots after dunno how many donkey years it has been in my cupboard collecting dust

used to love wearin my boots with minis and sometimes fishnet stockings
but then has since toned down in dressing LOL

then brought pineapple tarts to the office for the gals to try
hee so far the comments have been good ... its always good to be appreciated
esp for somethin u made yourself ..

we also made almond cookies, butter cookies, choc chip cookies and shrimp rolls

when i tink its like a fish ball already -_-"

there's a bazaar at NIE .. bought a pair of earrings to go with my CNY getup and also a shirt ..

when its time for him to go back, i passed him the present i made for his mum ..
cause i heard its not nice to give presents after CNY which is SUN "FIRST DAY" so ask dear to bring back for me

was walkin out of my school buildin with a colleague .. when i saw a grp of army guys marchin pass.. i was excited as i remembered dear said he will be marchin pass NTU
so i went in front and see cause not wearin specs mah
BUT all of them look the same cant distinguished which one is dear

then suddenly i spotted dear ! haha
me so happy ah haha
never know his camp is TAT near NTU haha

anyway i'm happy just to see him for tat little bit hee
now longin for more of him

then went shoppin with colleague hee
she's been a great help ~thank u so much for accompanyin me
she gave me suggestions and ideas and also help me choose some skirts and let me tried some dresses ..
bought a black skirt with sequins for CNY to go with my pink top

then went on to try a few dresses ooh ! so sweet and nice woh BUT i tink i'm just so NOT USED to seein myself in one nonetheless to wear it HAHAHA ..

must practise more .. maybe start with skirts BESIDE DENIM then proceed to dresses hee
maybe will buy a dress for V day ..will look better than the usual getup of jeans and shirt .. too plain for a special day hee..maybe ...

tue night after dad came home and finish dinner i accompanied him to go buy nian huo
we have a bazzaar outside our house so went to get more things

my dad no sons haha so i'm always the one to help him
the rest of my sis studyin so left them at home ..

bought lots of oranges and red deco stuff for the house hha
really in CNY mood already ~

well thats my dad~ he sure know how to liven up the mood ^^
cant wait

in the meantime maybe i go find myself a dress ..

haven worn one since dunno how many donkey years ago .. all my skirts are either cargo or denim ..
maybe its time to get myself somethin more dressy or feminine haha
but then dun wanna look too old too cause dear's dressin gettin more "funky" it seems..

hopefully i can find a nice tube dress hee
hopefully has my size cause i'm so sick of seein stuff in free sizes or S/M only ..
sometimes being "big-boned" has all its limitations
i tink the only good thing abt my size is my height and my shoulders
i tink my shoulders look broad and sturdy lol can carry tube or halter well i tink wahaha

durin lunch one of the days
my colleagues and i were talkin abt body size
we realise our generation alot of ppl around our size and height .. 165-170+ then abt M-L size ..
then nowadays alot of youngsters look like 160 and below then all XS-S size ..
hmm... so big diff ah .. dunno why too .
they were sayin NTU alot of first yr students are wearin XS lab coat woh .. -_-"

no wonder i always feel so stress comin to work haha
see the ppl so petite ..
maybe its the environment or the food ppl eat nowadays bah .. i tink alot of ppl will scrimp on food to pay for clothes ..

i spend alot on food .. and only buy clothes sparingly
i hope ..

anyway i prefer to spend on skincare pdts too .. for me i tink
appearance is nothin with good skin .. and without appearance, u cannot carry off fashion ..

then when i'm bored or too free i'll try to make some handicraft ... used to sew dresses for my sis's barbie dolls
thinkin of it i MUST be really bored lol

i collected CI BOYS GLOOMY BEAR the "tea dog" and now the "robot panda" hmm forgot the actual name haha

my pig's sick

quite worried nowadays

my pig's not havin much appetite nowadays
used to stand and squeak for attention for us to feed him then now just lie there quietly not movin for hours ...

even we fed him his fav food he never eat much ....

male menopause? andropause ? or single for too long ..

goin to buy treats for him hopefully he eats eat and gain back some weight

productive weekend ~

sat mornin brought mum out for breakfast cause there's only two of us .. both sis went sch so i took her out .. mum's been eatin at home for the past week so i tink its better to bring her out for breakfast instead of eatin at home again ..

today's gonna be a tirin day as its makin pineapple tarts day ! lol
mum made the dough while i knead and shape the tarts and add fillings too ..
i tink those twho ate our tarts will find it worthwhile cause mum has a tendency to add ALOT of pineapple fillings lol
like fishball size .. haha

we made from 11-5 .. only stoppin for lunch .. hmm.. but its worthwhile .. we cut production this year as we also made our types of cookies too ..

then at night i went to fetch dear for dinner hee
got to know this jap bbq from a friend's blog so brought him there .. tuck in somerset

interestin place with charcoal stove for bbq .. and its not smoky as there's a ventilation pipe just on top of the stove.. removin the smoke away from us ..
there's a lot of marinated meat .. i loved the beef haha its tender and thin slices and marinated just nice for me .. the lambchop's nice too but a bit tough hmm.. chicken's too common ..

oh ! and there's shishamo! .. "pregnant fish" somethin like tat ..
then we ate ice-cream for dessert ..
overall's nice and cozy .. not too crowded .. although dunno why there's ALOT of guys eatin there .. in big groups too .. maybe becoz there's a KTV beside the restaurant LOL

then we went back to dear's place for the night hee
snuggled in his arms ..

dear's mummy got my family "LIN ZHI YUAN" bak gua! lol
from chinatown .. i will have to tell my family to slowly savour it as she said it took almost 7 hrs to queue for it ! OMG
for bak gua ah...

then dear's mummy said there's one more pineapple tarts for my family next week haha
we are like doin gifts exchange as every year when my mum bakes cookies she will set aside for dear then his mummy will buy goodies for us too ~

then i met my mum at JE to go causeway point
xiao mei's hp spoilt again ! makin me so pissed off as its the third time in 2 weeks then we are bringin it for service
i collected the hp for her twice already ! dunno what's the technician at NOKIA doin .. its always the same prob lor ...

anyway beside tat i took mum and xiao mei to eat jap food .. we ordered a set each and strangely enough everyone's set had salmon somehow .. haha

then aftertat its shoppin time again~
brought mum to buy heels then bought some sweets for CNY .. we bought ALOT of MASHMALLOWS for CNY too lol ..
i wonder if we can ever finish it for CNY -_-"

we went home after tat .. yea~

so for the last week before CNY i will have to "spring-clean" my rooms .. clear all the clutter tat's been accumulatin ..
i guess i'll be the one doin it as both sis schoolin and havin tests ..
its alright for me cause i cant stand messiness!
if i can i will clean dear's room for him .. aiyoh .. army's deprivin him of time ..

btw i made somethin for dear's family too .. some handiwork .. i tink dear's mummy will like it ^^

wed was shoppin with a friend after work at JP .. lookin at tops
we bought a top from Esprit each haha nice and interesting designs ..
then i got a call from dear

i heard him say "i have lights out soon"
i was "huh? sleep so early?"
..."night's out!"

yea!
dear had 2.5 hrs out of camp.. he told me he will be goin straight to my place so i went back home to wait for him hee

dear so good woh .. 2.5 hrs also come find me .. i'm so touched hee like spoilt by him already .. he took cab to and fro my place but he said worth the trouble just to see me and pei me cause i was tellin him how much i missed him over the week ..

dear's trainin tough ah .. see his whole body either scars, marks or heat rashes .. sigh
i cant do anythin for him beside to assure him and to encourage him ..

so to reward him i gave him body massage haha tats the least i can do ..ease some of his aches ..
i shall practise more of my massagin skills so can "improve to next lvl " lol

anyway i'm countin down to his bookout again on sat hee
and its fri today cant wait ..

for now .. total loot i had for CNY
4 tops and a pair of slippers haha

valentine's day

valentine's day is hot on the heels of CNy
cant wait for tat day
although dear will be in camp on the actual day
he will spend with me over the weekends

yea~ some ppl will find a waste of money ...(i used to think so too)
but now ever since i got my first bouquet from dear ( 12 white tulips with a single red rose) for our first valentine's day
i'm always hopin for more ..
it doesnt have to be a big bouquet
even 3 stalks i will treasure it .. makes me feel so loved..

was readin sun's papers when i came across this section abt price of education ..

it has been increasin steadily .. due to various factors like increase in tuition fees or inflation or change in currency rate

for the spore segment .. its only the gov uni and not private uni dealin with part time or off shore learnin .. those are almost twice tat of the local uni ..
education is BIG business here ..

although i always wanted to further my studies .. too many factors force me to reconsider .. again and again .. in a fix..

local uni is cheap compared to others but its a 4 yrs course FULL TIME and for my dip there's no direct entry to second yr only module exemption ..

i dun wanna take bank loan for overseas and take goodness know how many yrs to repay it .. so only way out ..for now.. is to take part time degree.. at least can work for my allowances and all other misc stuff..dun wanna still take money from parents ..

in the meantime scourin around for my plan .. sometimes i envy the uni students i see on way to work BUT i aint gonna let it put myself down ..

fuckin inconsiderate ppl

today was a fine mon mornin then was queuin as usual at the interchange

i was walkin behind a guy then while we were movin forward i left a gap in between us and a little pig in green happily just "joined the gap"
i was fuckin pissed off and i glared at her the whole time then she happily waved to her friend and two of them joined her

three little pigs, in green white and yellow .. fuck
i wished i had the guts to tell them off i tink i'm too nice .. just glared at them .. wished my buddy is here with me.. he sure tell them off ..

sometimes wat i tink doesnt come out of my mouth in words .. haiz ..

the reason why i'm so mad is magnified by the fact that the queue is fuckin long again .. i waited half hour to get up the bus!
imagine they jumped queue and saved themselves half an hour !

anyway i shall stop whinin abt it .. just felt injustified

the weekends was ok .. helped mum made cookies .. lol lots of containers too .. then cant finish makin it then mum had to continue on sun ..
hmm.. next week i shall help her more ..

then at night went dinner with yl ..
then sun he went to get his clothes at parkway ..
i tink his taste is gettin more fanciful and youthful

hari raya haji hols

mon evenin went to JP to wait for my dear .. he told me he'll be out at 6.. but i waited till almost 7.30...>.<
his bus was SO VERY late haiz.. oh well there jam mah no choice .. then we shared a cab with his buddies to orchard .. dear said he found a new place to eat lol
we were goin to try Yuki Yaki in cineleisure !

the taxi jammed all the whole way there .. horrible .. it was practically crawlin along the road.. "slow traffic" sign everywhere .. suddenly seems like the whole of spore out on the roads lol

finally reached there around 8
then went YUKI YAKI .. like seoul garden woh but much nicer selection of meats and diff marinated types .. with seafood too ..
there's a teppanyaki style and steamboat style on the same table but seperate out not like seoul garden woh .. so even soup spilled also not worry abt the oil splashin up from the "hotplate"

we ate till almost 10.. shiok ! haha lots of meat again .. but then i hope they sliced the beef thinner .. when cooked it seems abit tough to chew on ..

strongly recommend then seoul garden .. there's even diy ice-cream.. shall try tat next time ..

dear went back with me hee to spent his hols with me .. and its nearer to his pick-up place too ^^

mummy was bakin choc chips cookies ! thanks to receipe from meizhen heheh..
its a long tedious process cause my house usin microwave so the bakin took up majority of the time .. the mixin part is easy

once i clear out my planted tank i will get the marine tank already
we decided on the tank already and it comes with built in light, overflow box and even ventilation holes for installation of fan ...gonna place it on my table for me to admire lol

so in the meantime will be readin up more on the cyclin process and stuff ..
cant wait to get it up and running

sat went out with my xiao mei to walk around .. at first went Jurong point to wait for my dear to book out ... was feelin hungry so went KFC to eat somethin first before my mum .. as she had to work in the mornin .. after my mum came we went to eat again lol at the "bento...." forgot the name lol just beneath Fish N CO.. not bad .. for the jap food ..we shared a bento set a fried udon and salmon udon between us lol

then after tat me xiao mei and dear went suntec to get xiao mei hp fixed ..at the NOKIA service centre .. HORRIBLE queue .. had to wait 2.5 hrs to see the personnel ..

while waitin i bought them MUDPIE LOL from Gelare waffles .. then i bought lots of toys woh .. of food ! very interestin wan shall post pic soon .. gonna get myself some clear display case to display all the stuff i had collected over the years ..

after the NOKIA we went marina square for dinner .. went CAFE CARTEL ...
i tink basically we were eatin the whole day

mornin went market with mum to get stuff for bakin and some other essentials .. damn .. its been rainin for the past few days .. makin goin out so troublesome ... we had to carry so many plastic bags back while holdin the umbrella .. but then if i dun help her who will ? since i tink i'm the "strongest" and the earliest to wake haha .. my two sis can sleep until goodness when ..

came back taught xiao mei AMaths .. luckily still remember ABIT .. then went off to find my dear .. we went parkway to eat lunch .. then we bought a small cakie ! lol

then dear's mummy fetch us home from parkway ..the jam's horrible .. i tink the only ppl happy with the rain must be the taxi drivers .. cause in front of parkway the taxis all linin up .. inchin bit by bit .. BUT the meters still runnin as usual ..

luckily me and dear still in high spirits despite the rainy weather ...heheh like still in honeymoon period .. i sound "mushy" but it feels like it .. still lovin and goin strong .. will miss him when he goes in again ... but luckily he'll be out on MON night LOL funny lor .. go in a day then out again ..

anyway i'm so glad that despite the distance, the absence and the distractions we are still together .. we are sticky to each other LOL

declare sick

i tink i'm too weak already .. this is the second time i've seen my uni doc in 3 mths i work there .. haiz ..

doc said i caught the cold .. plus sore throat and cough and flu ..
then last week had fever when at dear's place ... dear got so worried .. he keep sayin i so weak too ... dunno why like this leh .. last time in poly i seldom fall sick now start work became weaker.. maybe cause i work in research environment lol
u wun know wat kind of germs or virus lurk around .. i've been careful when i do lab work already but then sometimes things happen -_-"

hmm.. must be tat time got caught in the rain with dear and his papa when we went to see fishes at pasir ris fish farms ... dear suddenly very enthu abt maintain his marine tank again haha
its good to see him puttin in effort to make it better ..
bought new fish ! lol dartfish .. looks abit like "batman" to me LOL with its extended fins ..

then dear fed his corals with prawns ! its so interestin to see .. the corals extend its tentacles to grab the food then push the meat into its mouth ..

corals ARE NOT PLANTS as some may tot .. they are living creatures woh .. some are filter feeders while some can consume solid food ..

for myself anythin simple will do ... lol i tink my fashion sense cannot make it so no pt buyin so many stuff for myself too

went out with my dear on mon .. to bugis to find his stuff .. a digital watch
reached about 1 in the afternoon .. luckily not too crowded .. i cant really stand crowds ..
we saw some watches at a small stall near the entrance so we went in to see..
i asked the sales staff how much he said 5 bucks then i asked if have better ones he said there's the casio brand which is 20
i asked if have discount he said can give me 18
then the BOSS with his back to me said "16"
i asked if can cheaper he said " wan cheaper take the 5 bucks one"
i was abit annoyed .. not with his words but his attitude ..
who talk to customer with his back ?! then his tone was like despising me or discriminatin .. like i cant afford a good watch ..

i just asked casually if there's any warranty cause the watch show outside my place has warranty for the same type of casio watch
the BOSS said crudely with his back still facin me " wat u expect for a 10+ watch ?"
......

my dear just said forget it and he bought the watch ..then we walked off ..
i was so annoyed .. hmm.. NEVER gonna see that BOSS again ...

we walked aroun parco to find bag and shoes for him but cant then we went to SIAM KITCHEN for their buffet lunch ...

my first time for such thai lunch ~
dear said the format like the RICE TABLE .. but ALOT cheaper .. they give u around 8 dishes at one sittin then wat u wan u ask for refill ..

not bad .. all the dishes are SPICY and tats the way i like it haha
the green mango salad's nice, the mutton curry too ..
then i realise their curry's sweet not like chinese style lol
but not bad nonetheless ...
the chicken wings' fragrant too with lemongrass
the price still alright too .. around 15 per pax...

we walked around the shops in Parco but cant find any shoes .. i saw shoes i like BUT the heels were horrible ! like at least 2-3 inches high lor .. i wanted an inch of heel only ..
so have to go other places to find next time already ..

new year's just arrived and my dear and 1 are both sick .. he caught a flu and i havin sore throat lol wat a way to start the new year at work .. have to curb myself from eatin too much spicy food already haiz ...

went Jurong Point to wait for my dear to book out on sat then went to eat pizza haha
abit "outdated" cause we were eatin the christmas pizza ... quite nice although i tink they scrimp on the filling .. so stingy !

anyway went back to dear's place to pack and rest before we went to have our new year's eve dinner ~ heheh
i made a reservation at Jack's Place for our cosy dinner together

and its a good choice cause when we reach there, the whole restaurant was booked!
luckily i made reservation in advance .. to surprise my dear hee

the atmosphere and settings was set in celebratary mood already
haha there were party stuff and hats for all the diners even the set meal for the day were diff from usual ..
i give my 2 thumbs up to the restaurant and the VERY friendly staff

after dinner we walked around taka then we proceed to the next segment of the night ...

Marina FIREWORKS, the art installation was very surreal too~ the floatin balls were being lighted up by diff lights at diff timin

we practically camped at the open space beside the esplanade at 10.30 to see the fireworks !
no regrets ! it was beautiful ! even better and more spectacular than on NATIONAL DAY ~
we found ourselves a good spot too ! just in front of the platform where the fireworks would be fired from ..

it was VERY crowded .. with families, lots of youngsters, couples and even foreigners -_-"
the foreigners also very enthu ..armed with spray cans and digi cams to film the fireworks

wanted to take pics of the fireworks but then i tink my hp cam not good and fast enough so never take ...
but the spectacular of the fireworks will be imprinted into my mind and memories ~ another year has arrived .. another year of hope and love for us hee, sealed with a kiss at the stroke of midnight as we embraced the new year together, in my dear's arms

hope i can fulfill all my new year resolutions~
