somethin i came across in a forum
"Should hubby give allowance?"
part of the contents
"My qns is, since I am working and he is as well, is it right for me to ask for Wife allowance. I never checked with my other frens.. cos sensitive. But do any married ladies out there get any allowance fr hubby despite working?
what do you think? "
some replies
"What is the main objective of marrying him? To have an extra allowance from him?"
"I attended marriage prep course when husbands were encouraged to give allowance to wife whether working or not. Not sure what the rationale was. Personally, I would like husband to give me some allowance. The amount is not important but it's the gesture.. a commitment towards me."
"I think getting an alowance is quite an archaic idea isn't it? In this case, should our hubbies be allowed to expect us to do the housework? (Also a traditional role mah)"
"to me, Marriage Prep course is like going school... and it's good for those who needs to have instructions and rules to follow.
being S'poreans, some of us will take everything taught, and use it like rules. and quote these rules. i had enough of "my teacher say we must...", "my father say we should....". Yeah, it's good for pple with no minds of their own to determine what is Right, and what is Wrong. basically for followers... little Sheeps that need herding.
if u learnt life, lived life and u're exposed to moral/ethical issues often enough, u dun need a guide to tell u what's right and wrong. Worse - u use the Subjects discussed to tell pple what's right what's wrong.
anyway get an allowance if u need it. settle yourself if u dun. When we discuss modern day, some women will stand up and say how capable women are nowadays... and i agree! then if back home u're demanding for allowance, i'll lose my respect for u immediately.
my peeve is MODERN DAY FEMINISTS who want the exercise double standards when it comes to domestic issues"
"hubby should give monthly allowance to wife ideally, will you force it on your hubby when this may result in him in having tighter cashflow and not able to live comfortably as you (who has more cashflow)?"
******
Allowances is always good to have. BUT I dont mind NOT having too next time.WE have to earn our keep.
Some may say I dont have one that is financially capable of covering everything for me that is why i am saying all these. Jealously maybe?
Maybe i havent gotten a man who can really cover everything for me. Maybe i dont even need one that can. I dont like the feeling of being "indebted". Maybe at least when i spend my own money. I wont have to ask for second opionion hahahaha
ANd I do not wish for the time whereby the other half, from "covering ME", has less cashflow for himself. AINT IT UNFAIR?
Of course the opposite applies too.
I wouldnt want a man who can splurge on himself and his stuff and other committements that he's so miserly with his money on his other half. To calculate everything in halves, to claim and to get back money of the other half's "personal indulgences" with HIS money.
I equate earning power and spending amount to generousity.
eg 300 on the gf with 3K paycheck OR 300 on the gf with 1K paycheck?
MONEY is always a tricky issue. It's a matter of how the individuals cope with their financial spending and allocation.
ILLEGAL access to email
Man fined $15,000 for illegal access to ex-girlfriend's email accounts
He also changed her password without her consent.
By Elena Chong
AN administrator was fined a total of $15,000 on Monday for illegally accessing his former girlfriend's personal e-mail accounts and changing her password.
Lim Boon Siang, 27, was convicted last week of two charges under the Computer Misuse Act and had six other charges taken into consideration.
A district court heard that he changed the password of the e-mail account with the user name 'ocean_valley', without the consent of the account holder and accessed Ms Shirley Ang Shu Hui's yahoo.com.sg account from his Ang Mo Kio home on Jan 21.
They met while they were studying at Singapore Institute of Management and became a couple. They broke off last December.
Between 2001 and 2004, Ms Ang registered three personal e-mail accounts including 'ocean_valley@yahoo.com.sg'.
In 2003, she used her hotmail e-mail address 'ocean_valley' to register for her Friendster account.
Lim knew about her four accounts as she had communicated with him using the accounts. But she had never allowed him to use the accounts which were personal.
Sometime in January, someone posted lewd comments about her in her blog.
Lim claimed that he got to find out about the postings and wanted to know who had made them.
That was why he decided to access her accounts to find out more.
His lawyer, Mr Dinagaran, said Lim did not mean to cause any mischief to anyone but was merely trying to protect Ms Ang.

Things people do nowadays, in order to "CHECK" on their other half.
I even heard of people PRETENDING to be someone else by logging into other's MSN account and chatting up people to test the original owner's FIDELITY.
SHOCKING? But it's true.

Singapura Restaurant
It was quite old and inconspicuous and the entrance was almost "non-visible" from the main road too.
BUT the food was good, i myself, a "Hokkien", have never tried some of the dishes before too.
The ONLY irritation i had was the way how the lady boss treated her workers.
Even though they were efficient enough, to me, the lady boss kept shouting at them REGARDLESS of the people having their dinner there. I cound see the embarassed look on their faces.
Anyway, on to foodie pics.

LIDO plus more shoppin!
We managed to buy the tickets for "Pronounce you Chuck and Larry" heh.
It's a real hilarious show but in the meantime it explored the themes of homosexuality, responsibilites of a parent, a lover, of friendship and also about moving on with life.
I envy people with the tags such as "BFF" and such. Maybe cause i dont have one to really call a "best friend". Maybe I am cautious. Maybe in a sense i am too paranoid. Maybe I dont like to rely on people. I'm not sure. I dont like divulging too much about myself either. BUT, i am still glad that i have GOOD friends who support me the way they do, bypassing this mentality of mine.
Anyway, had a great time with dear... shopping! hmm though we have our differences when it comes to clothes.. i managed to see along the same line as him... hahahaha
I know i'm quite a fussy and paranoid gf tsk tsk with my bouts of worrying and comparisons and also temper of mine.
I'll try to change that stubborn streak in me.
Please bear with me.
I think i hold too much expectations too fast too soon, shall take small steps at a time, i do not want to risk upsetting the balance we have between us.
I should really ban myself from shopping.
2 weeks and i got myself 1 dress and 4 tops and 2 shoes -_-" (cant bear to tally amount spent)
tsk tsk
Must really wait till next year then shop for CNY clothes already LOL
I got this from ZARA with lots of BLING!
and i'm so in love with it.
To remind me of the things I've haven been through heh

wedding service at serangoon
After the church service, brought her over to marine parade then to east coast road to walk around and settled down to have dinner at ampang yong tau hu.
Dear met us for dinner too and i am glad for that though its kinda for a short time only.
The wedding church service was informative and casual kinda like an eye opener cause its my first wedding service. I went to the normal christian and catholic services a few times though.
It's always good to listen more and be open to other religions.
The reception spread was good too and what caught my eye was the tier of cupcakes heh
i parted my fringe again LOL
As we couldnt make up our minds on what to have for dinner..
dear suggested to cook dinner himself , we prowled carrefour and chose the ingredients and
in the end we had steak and mussels for dinner!
hee i feel so loved~
thu and fri was spent with dear and he accompanied me home on fri night..
sat will be spent accompanying mum to her colleague's church wedding while sun will be spent with dear again ...
time's never too much, too short, too late to do anything
